Are You Speaking Words of Encouragement or Despair?

A group of frogs was traveling through the forest when two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that there was no hope left for them. However, the two frogs ignored their comrades and proceeded to try to jump out of the pit. Despite their efforts, the group of frogs at the top of the pit were still saying that they should just give up, as they’d never make it out. Eventually, one of the frogs took heed of what the others were saying, and he gave up, jumping even deeper to his death. The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the group of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and to just die. He ignored them and jumped even harder. Finally, he made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, "Did you not hear us?" The frog explained to them that he was deaf, and that he thought they were encouraging him the entire time. Moral of the
story: Your words can have a huge effect on the lives of others. Therefore, you should always think about what you’re going to say before it comes out of your mouth – it might just be the difference between life and death. *Taken from Faith Lutheran Church newsletter, Sullivan, IL

Things People Ask About AGRI-SEARCH
|
|
|
|
|
Where is the AGRI-SEARCH office? Our primary business operations are based out of Arthur, Illinois, right in the middle of Illinois’ largest Amish settlement. We are proud to be a part of a thriving rural community with solid Midwestern values.
Have you always been officed in Arthur? Our original office was opened in Mahomet, Illinois, by Rich
Connell in 1995. He later moved the business to a reconstructed barn in a beautiful wooded setting on the Connell’s home property along the Sangamon River in rural Seymour, Illinois. Our office relocated to Arthur on January 1, 2001 and had two office locations, one a former gas company and the other was a garage manufacturer, prior to moving into our newly constructed current facility on June 1, 2015.
Do all AGRI-SEARCH team members work in Arthur? Once upon a time, that was necessary. With the advancement of technology, we have had recruiters work remotely for several years. Vic Heinold, for example, is a Hoosier by birth but now serves our clients well from his home in sunny Florida.
Why aren’t you located in a larger city? Living in America’s heartland surrounded by beautiful farmland and hardworking and honest people is to us the best place in the world to be. We proudly say, "We live in the middle of everything!" Agriculturally speaking, that is very true. But we also have four international airports within 2-3 hours of our doorstep (St. Louis, Indy, Chicago Midway and O’Hare) and can literally get most anywhere in the US east of the Rockies in a one-day drive.

Hiring the best of the best? In many situations and for many roles, a commitment to employing the best candidates possible can sometimes involve relocation. Whether this a commonplace occurrence or one that is only approved under the most unique circumstances, there are copious and essential components of a successful relocation that can be refined to create a seamless process for the candidate, the family, and the organization.
For any hiring manager who has been involved with handling relocations, the nightmare stories are plentiful. The moving truck breaks down, high school children threaten emancipation, or the family cat is
accidentally packed in a moving box (but survived) are all true stories of relocation fiascos. Assuredly, unexpected situations cannot always be avoided, but are there steps that can methodically be taken to minimize those unexpected situations?
There are.
